The Fish King is another fish hunting style game from the Ocean King series in which players must catch as many fish as possible in the allocated time, trying to score the most points to get the biggest payout. The game is played in HD graphics, displaying the gorgeous ocean scenery with high definition detail and vibrancy.
Players can start the game by inserting credit, then they use the joystick to take aim with their net gun; once a target is lined up, players press the SHOOT button to catch the fish. Players can switch between three different guns of varying power levels by pressing the WEAPON change button at any stage of the game.
The main gameplay is fun, as it is quite simple to understand, however the mini games make it more challenging for experienced players and they can be useful to utilize in order to win big. The mini game features include:
- <b>Bomb Crab</b>: when a player catchers the bomb crab it explodes and the player can get extra points from the damage it does to the fish on the screen at the time, which will either be caught or made easier to catch.
- <b>Lightning Chain</b>: there are nine types of fish which are subject to lightning chain and you can use the feature to get up to nine kinds of fish at once and win extra points depending on what you are able to catch.
- <b>Vortex Fish</b> - each fish (except devilfish, shark, killer whales, humpback whales and bomb crabs) have a vortex feature. When a player picks up the vortex feature, the fish with the vortex feature at the time captures all the same fish near it for the player.
The biggest difference in Fish King is the exciting new features added such as the new character addition of Fish King! This character is hard to catch and is worth 500 points for who ever is quick enough and strong enough. The new game has also asdded a new Vortex Fish King for extra points in that particular mini game.
