Fish Hunter Ultimate is a fish hunting game in which players must try to catch the fish swimming across the screen. In the game there are a large cast of fish characters to catch, which all have different value rates, which means some characters are harder to catch than others and may need more powerful weapons to be used, or, players may need to use special features or work together in order to catch them. This is a highly competitive and fast-paced game, providing lots of excitement for players and onlookers!
There are some new features from previous fish hunting games which make Fish HUnter Ultimate more exciting, for example the new point method. Usually, players will accumulate credit points when they catch fish based on their rate, however this game uses the Double Method rather than the Credit Method, which means that when you catch a fish it's rate is x1000. Players can now score more points than ever!
Also, there is a new weapon in the players arsenal. Weapons we've seen previously, such as the Super Cumulative Gun, have returned, but there is now a fourth weapon too - the Tracking Missile! The Tracking Missile can be accessed by pressing the joystick up twice and, once fired, will automatically seek out the higher rated fish on the screen! Players can change between the other weapons at any stage of the game by pressing the WEAPON change button.
The game also includes a range of mini games and features which are handy for players to use during the game for extra points! These include:
- <b>Vortex Fish</b> - each fish (except devilfish, shark, killer whales, humpback whales and bomb crabs) have a vortex feature. When a player picks up the vortex feature, the fish with the vortex feature at the time captures all the same fish near it for the player.
- <b>Lightning Chain</b>: there are nine types of fish which are subject to lightning chain: snapper, clown fish, butterfly fish, fugu, lionfish, flounder, lobster, spearfish and octopus. Use the Lightning Chain to get up to nine kinds of fish at once and win extra points depending on how many fish, and how many different types of fish, are present on the screen at the time.
- <b>The Bomb Crab</b>: when the bomb crab is captured by a player it explodes and the player can get extra points from the explosion if it affects other fish.
